Emily Raiher MA Lead Clinician
Emily is an experienced HCPC registered music therapist. She trained and received her masters in Music Therapy at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Guided by client need she offers short term interventions as well as longer term therapy to support emotional, cognitive, physical, communication and social needs. Music therapy can support self esteem, greater awareness of feelings, wellbeing and foster creativity to promote meaningful change. Emily draws from a psychodynamic, developmental and systemic approach, working collaboratively to support an empathic and safe space for her clients. Emily's experience is broad and includes specialist work with children and young people with learning difficulties and disabilities, people living with dementia, NHS work in adult and older adult mental health and young people with gender dysphoria. Emily has run a large therapy service for primary school children supporting children and their families, has a special interest in parent work and has contributed to the field of transgender music therapy. Emily has composed for the Eden Project and has performed as a vocalist with a range of contemporary artists having trained at the Royal Academy of Music and later at Salford University.
Emily has an enhanced DBS check, public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance and is a full member of the British Association of Music Therapists (BAMT)
